Senior Buyer

Pantone LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Rite Incorporated, a Danaher company, is seeking a Sr. Buyer that reports directly to the Purchasing Manager. This role supports daily production operations by securing an optimum supply of material required for manufacturing to meet daily customer demand. The primary job responsibilities are to utilize and monitor material purchasing procedures with minimal inventory investment. These procedures involve direct contact with outside suppliers, transportation carriers, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and Operation staffs to meet/exceed current and projected customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize and monitor material purchasing procedures ensuring consistent quality, delivery, and cost with minimal inventory investment.
  • Forecast monthly material requirements to vendors to ensure material availability, based on historical data and PSI demand.
  • Identify and manage actual and potential material availability problems.
  • Root Cause/ Corrective Actions to short term and permanent solutions to material supply issues.
  • Develop new supplier relationships and procurement channels necessary to support business and supply chain objectives.
  • Suggest and implement appropriate procurement method (JIT, Reorder Point, Consignment, Reducing Lead-times, or Scheduled Releases) based on part characteristics, supplier, and demand to optimize material velocity and availability.
  • Direct contact with outside suppliers, customer service and operations staff to meet/exceed current and/or projected customer requirements.
  • Source alternate suppliers to provide PPV and IDM savings.
  • Achieve department performance goals (i.e. On Time Delivery, Inventory Turns and Accuracy, Material Flows, Risk Mitigation/Problem solving activities).
  • Develop & execute actions plans to ensure REACH and RoHS compliance (SVHC) for all purchased materials.
  • Assist in cost reduction projects and implementation of new product changes.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • Results and process driven; possess excellent organization (written and oral), and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate, multi-task, and drive improvements
  • Strong computer skills, specifically with EXCEL, database analysis, and experience working with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong Knowledge of supply chain principles and sourcing
  • Experience in working with global suppliers with knowledge of customs, tariffs rules and regulations preferred
  • ISM or APICS certification preferred
  • SVHC compliance experience is preferred

Director of Operations

The Director of Operations will lead the achievement of monthly operational and supply chain objectives for the Pantone site. Responsible for managing and driving results for all areas of operations, including manufacturing, production planning and scheduling, and supply chain in support of safety, quality, delivery, inventory and cost / productivity targets (S,Q,D,I,P). This specifically includes the continual implementation of lean manufacturing processes and growing our culture of associate engagement. This position is a key leadership role position within the company, with high visibility, ideally suited to candidates with long-term growth. The Director of Operations will report to the VP Worldwide Operations for X-Rite & Pantone with a dotted line to the VP/GM of Pantone

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all areas of operations (manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, production scheduling/planning & facilities maintenance).
  • Owns the continual pursuit of a “Best in Class” culture of Associate Engagement.
  • Achieve monthly Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost targets through:
    1. Effective and efficient Visual Daily Management
    2. Effective and efficient Problem Solving using the Danaher Problem Solving Process
    3. Action Plan development and execution
    4. Effective leadership of formal review meetings including Level 2 KPI sessions
  • Build and develop a World Class Operations team capable of meeting current and future business objectives, to include providing mentoring, rigorous development planning and succession planning for the operations organization.
  • Lead the successful training, execution, and sustainment of Danaher Business System (DBS) activities to drive S,Q,D,C results.
  • Lead insourcing / outsourcing activities from the Pantone site, as applicable.
  • Take the lead in developing well-functioning cross-departmental relationships and teams for the achievement of the business’s prioritized objectives.
  • Drive the year-over-year improvement in Employee Engagement Survey Results within areas of responsibility. Lead an effective communication plan in line with associate feedback VOC.

  • Lead the Performance Management and merit planning and execution process for associates of responsibility.
  • Drive for improved supplier performance (quality, delivery, lead times, inventory, and payment terms) through the development and execution of Strategic Commodity Plans, aligned with X-Rite in conjunction with the Strategic Purchasing and APD teams.
  • Lead, promote, and be an active participant in a variety of DBS tool Kaizen events.
  • Comfortable in the details and knowledgeable about the critical details, while comfortable driving systemic, prioritized activities for yearly goal achievement.

Value Stream Manager - Graphics

Pantone LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary or X-Rite Incorporated, a Danaher Company, is seeking an experience Value Stream Manager for our Graphics Division location in Carlstadt, NJ. The objective of this role will be to set and lead the achievement of Graphics operational and supply chain objectives for the PANTONE site. Responsible for managing and driving results for Graphics operations, including manufacturing, production planning and scheduling, quality control, and supply chain in support of safety, quality, delivery, inventory and cost / productivity targets (SQDIP). This specifically includes the implementation of Lean Manufacturing processes and the development of a Lean organization.

I. SCOPE AND IMPACT OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position significantly impacts the Company’s ability to be globally competitive in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth. This position is also instrumental in the development of a base of Company associates with a solid understanding of our operating philosophy. This position is a key leadership position within the Company, with high visibility, ideally suited to candidates with long-term promotability to a Director of Operations or General Manager position after achieving sustainable results at Pantone.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all areas of Graphics operations (manufacturing, supply chain, quality control, and production scheduling/planning). Communicate progress through focused meetings with staff and Director of Operations.
  • Achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost/Productivity targets through use of Danaher Business System (DBS) methods including active problem solving and Kaizen.
  • Lead improvements in inventory and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) initiatives resulting in positive improvements in working capital and margins.
